At Proper Xchange, transparency is part of our commitment to you. We believe you deserve to know exactly what goes into every product you bring into your home and onto your skin. Below is an overview of the key ingredients we use across our product lines β chosen for their purity, efficacy, and safety.
Essential Oils
We use 100% pure, undiluted essential oils sourced for quality and potency. Essential oils are the aromatic, concentrated extracts of plants β flowers, leaves, bark, roots, and resins β captured through steam distillation or cold pressing. Our blends are crafted with intention, combining oils that are both therapeutically effective and beautifully fragrant.
Common essential oils in our formulas include:
- Lavender β calming, soothing, and widely studied for relaxation support
- Eucalyptus β clarifying and refreshing; supports clear breathing
- Peppermint β cooling and invigorating; great for focus and tension relief
- Frankincense β grounding and centering; a staple in wellness rituals
- Bergamot β uplifting citrus with a calming undertone
- Tea Tree β purifying and cleansing; known for its antimicrobial properties
- Cedarwood β warm and woody; promotes calm and restful sleep

Carrier Oils
Carrier oils are plant-derived oils used to dilute essential oils for safe skin application. They are rich in fatty acids and nutrients that nourish the skin while helping essential oils absorb effectively. We select carrier oils that are lightweight, skin-compatible, and free from unnecessary additives.
- Jojoba Oil β technically a liquid wax, closely mimics the skinβs natural sebum; non-comedogenic and suitable for all skin types
- Sweet Almond Oil β lightweight and moisturizing; rich in vitamin E and oleic acid
- Fractionated Coconut Oil β odorless, long shelf life, absorbs quickly without a greasy feel
- Rosehip Seed Oil β rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids; supports skin tone and texture
Room Spray Base
Our room sprays are water-based and formulated with a minimal ingredient list. We use distilled water, a small amount of alcohol (to help disperse the essential oils evenly), and our proprietary essential oil blends. No synthetic fragrance. No phthalates. No aerosol propellants.
Candle Ingredients
Our candles are made with a clean-burning wax base and scented exclusively with essential oils β never synthetic fragrance oils. We use a cotton wick free of lead and zinc. What you wonβt find in our candles: paraffin, artificial dyes, or petroleum-derived additives.

What We Never Use
We formulate without the following:
- Parabens
- Phthalates
- Sulfates

- Animal-derived ingredients
Sourcing & Standards
We source our essential oils and raw materials from suppliers who meet our standards for purity and ethical sourcing. Our products are cruelty-free and never tested on animals. We are committed to continuous improvement in our ingredient transparency and sustainability practices.
